Avril Lavigne and Nickelback's Chad Kroeger have yet to wed, but they've already made a lasting impact on each other's recording careers. This week, Lavigne unveiled her cover of Nickelback's inescapable 2001 hit "How You Remind Me," recorded for the upcoming One Piece Film Z soundtrack. The cover is not Lavigne's only contribution, either: She also recorded a cover of Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation."

Avril's cover is actually an improvement on the original — or maybe it just seems that way since the song hasn't yet made its way into Clear Channel's "every hour on the hour" rotation yet. At least her vocals don't sound like they're being groaned out by an angry constipation sufferer. There's that.

One Piece Film Z, the latest installment in a long-running animated television and movie franchise, opens in Japan on December 15.
